Fathers Day

Another weekend is over and we were fortunate to have a long weekend as well. Lovely on a personal level, but not so good for business, especially considering that our country is teetering on the edge of a very real recession. It was also Fathers Day yesterday and last year it was also a long weekend, the weekend of Father's Day and we went away for the weekend to the Free State and Chad and Mark had a lovely Father and Son bike riding weekend. This weekend we stayed at home and Mark and Chad spent some Father and Son time driving around in his Uno.... Oh and some Miss Piggy bonding time.

Hey Keep Away From My Car - That Is One Scary Face

We I bought Mark some clothes for Chad to give him for Fathers Day. Chad is no longer into shopping for presents with his mother. I bought a nice warm jacket and a Hoody from Truworths Man - Truworths has become my new shop for clothes shopping, since Chad likes their clothes so much. I also bought him some track pants from Mr Price and his favourite sweets from Woolworths - Gums Galore. I also had this photo of Father and Son printed and framed.

I put everything into gift bags and left them in Chad's room with the card for Chad to write in. As per normal, Mark was up long before us and did not get breakfast in bed or a Fathers Day lie in.

We went to Cattle Baron for a late lunch as the crowds were leaving, but it was still so busy. Chad and I had a Prawn and Avo Ritz for starters and Mark had Calamari for his starter. Chad had Calamari for a main and I had a Seafood Combo, which was three Queen Prawns and Calamari. Mark had a Fillet Escargot, which was really pricey at R168.00.

We never had dessert, I had made a Peppermint Crisp Tart on Saturday night so that was dessert, although we don't often have dessert when we eat out anyway. A starter and main is more than enough.

And that was Fathers Day 2014 a very pleasant but relaxed day.
